Roopangarh Heritage Hotels
Roopangarh was the capital of the Kishangarh family in the 17th and 18th centuries, and the walls of the fort still have samples of the fineschool of paintings that developed here. Close to Kishangarh (25 km) and 125 km from Jaipur, the settlement is witnessing a revival of its famed ateliers of painting.
Fort Roopangarh: Built in 1653, situated on a mound, and guarded by nine turreted fortifications, Roopangarh has been extensively renovated by the current head of the family, and furnished with an air of elegance. Visitors can stay in the historic fort, and explore the ruins within the ramparts at their leisure. The family runs 16 rooms and a dining hall as part of the facilities of a heritage hotel.
